Current situation
A few years ago, I decided to dedicate the focus of my career within the entertainment industry to the world of digital advertising. The niche world of adtech allows me to utilize my nerd side while being surrounded by things I enjoy.
I relocated to Atlanta, GA during the pandemic and took up a role with Tubi (owned by FOX), a completely free, ad supported streaming platform. It’s now one of the leaders in the AVOD space with over 80 million monthly active viewers!! I am a Senior Ad Operations Specialist and traffic direct and programmatic campaigns and continuously monitor and troubleshoot delivery to ensure campaigns deliver in full.
I’m proud to say that in 2023 I was awarded the Tubi Values ‘Own It’ award which means I embodied the ethos of the brand and exhibited a strong hustle where I colored outside of my role to contribute to our success.
Pro tip — if you haven’t downloaded Tubi on your smart TV — give it a try! You can also view movies, TV and more by going to tubitv.com.
Before this…
I’m proud to say I worked for Roku — an innovative, industry-leading company that I’ve been a fan of for many years.
During the nearly two years I spent there, I grew from handling basic trafficking and reporting ad operations duties to managing the successful delivery of multi-million dollar campaigns for many Fortune 500 clients. One of the campaigns I managed for TurboTax was featured in AdWeek, which was a sponsorship which helped guide viewers on how they could watch the Big Game during the 2021 SuperBowl weekend.
I’m also proud to say that I was the first participant from the platform side of the business (marketing/sales) in the company’s annual Hackathon — and my team won!!! A trophy sits next to my desk declaring that I won ‘Most Creative’ hack in 2020. Hopefully one day it comes to production so I’m able to show and tell you all about it :)
Before all that….
I worked in digital advertising for a TheaterMania / AudienceView who specialized in live entertainment and online ticketing. I worked with primarily with marketing managers at venues in the heart of New York City. Most of my campaigns were for the iconic Broadway shows millions flock to see annually.
I was the go-to person who liaised with clients and executed web, e-mail, programmatic and social ad campaigns. My day-to-day was comprised of a mix of optimizing campaigns in Google Ad Manager, nerding-out in Microsoft Excel, posting discounts for events, writing a few HTML tags and tracking people down for approvals.
For four and a half years, I worked for M. Shanken Communications, the publishers behind Wine Spectator and Cigar Aficionado. I held various positions there, starting from an advertising sales assistant to managing our digital advertising. My last position was as the Account & Project Manager for the in-house ad agency, Shanken Creative Group.
One of my favorite side hustles is talking to strangers asking them personal questions and inputting their responses on a tablet PC. Really, I get paid for this. :-) I do this type of interviewing on behalf of event sponsors at major events and sporting arenas. You might find me wandering around Madison Square Garden, concerts and other extraordinary events.
Occasionally people call me up to do some graphic design-related projects like logos, websites, flyers or sponsorship decks. Most of my design projects have been for those in the entertainment industry.
I've worked as a brand ambassador for over ten years. I started representing CPG items in grocery stores in Alaska and graduated to being the sole BA in Alaska for FRS Healthy Energy Drink at various venues and sporting events throughout college. I now occasionally represent brands at major events and premier venues in NYC. (Above photo taken from Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation red carpet premiere in Times Square)
